Three Ways To Prepare When You'll Be Wearing A Revealing Wedding Dress

Blog

Do you plan on wearing a wedding dress that shows a bit more skin than is traditional? Flaunting your best features is your prerogative on your wedding day, but it can also leave you feeling a bit self-conscious if you're not happy with your appearance. To ensure you look and feel as stunning as possible, follow these three tips to prepare in advance for your revealing wedding dress.

Get laser hair removal.

Do you have hair in places that are tough to shave? Or maybe you start getting that 5:00 shadow, making you fear that your stubble will be obvious by the evening if you wear the wedding dress all day. A good way to prevent this issue is to have laser hair removal performed in the months leading up to your wedding day. Most patients need a couple of appointments in order for the treatment to completely and permanently remove their hair -- and these treatments must be spaced a few weeks apart. So start early to ensure you're hairless and smooth on your wedding day.

Keep in mind that your skin will be sore and red for a few days after laser hair removal. So, don't schedule an appointment too close to your rehearsal dinner, a dress fitting, your bachelorette party, or other wedding-related events.

Get a tan.

Most people look better and feel more confident when they are tan. While you could get a spray tan a day or two before your wedding, a natural tan will look more realistic, and you don't have to worry about it rubbing off on your dress.

Start tanning about two months before your wedding so you can take your time building up color without risking a sunburn. Visit three or four times per week, initially only tanning for about 5 minutes at a time. After two or three weeks, you should have slowly worked your way up to 30 minutes of tanning. When you get the color you desire, cut back to tanning once a week until your wedding date arrives.

Work with a personal trainer.

Whether you want to lose weight or just tone up a few spots, working with a personal trainer is the best way to ensure you meet your goals by the time your wedding date arrives. The sooner you start working out, the better! Make sure you follow your trainer's advice, when it comes to both exercise and diet.
